Noa Tylo

Noa Tylo

BY BOB FINDLE

“It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been fucked before or whether you’ve done the fucking. When I need you for the first time for some action or some satisfaction, you’re a virgin to it and I am a virgin to you. Take me as I am or don’t take me at all.”

So proclaims the humptastic Noa Tylo in the spoken intro to his Born Again Virgin CD (available at iTunes for download). What follows is more than an hour of sexed-up, vibed-out, tranced-down music that would put anyone in the mood for busting a move on the dance floor or busting a nut in the bedroom.

Tylo’s sound is hard to pocket. Incessant beats build the snakey basslines, forming the underpinnings for his talk/sing vocals. It is Euro-synth pop and American techno/house mixed up with Isaac Hayes growls and Eartha Kitt purrs, with a definite nod to a horny, verbal, circa “Justify My Love” Madonna (someone Tylo says he’d like to teach a few things about sex). The CD is sexy. It is sensual. It comes with an Explicit Lyrics warning sticker. It’s about getting it on with the ladies and the gents.

I dare anyone to sit still while listening to “It’s All About,” a stripped-down bit of funk bop with lyrics:

“With your tongue into
Mine tasting you
What’s a boy to do
With a girl like you
With my tongue to you
Lick back too
What’s a boy to do
With a man like you”

Tylo writes on his site noatylo.com: “Attraction is based on energy and not sexuality. Whatever turns me on.”

He continues: “The CD is about lust, love, losses and gains. It’s really an in-depth look into my heart and soul.”

Born in South Africa, Tylo is now doing his lusting and living in New York City where he hopes to make his fame and fortune in the U.S. music market. He’s already had top hits and a banned-for-being-too-sexy video in his homeland.
